Simple elegance describes this chicken dish that would be perfect or a dinner party.

Servings: 6 servings

ingredients

6 tablespoons divided  flour
1/2 teaspoon   dried thyme leaves, crushed
1/2 teaspoon   dried rosemary leaves, crushed
dash of   pepper
6 thawed  ChicNSteakes
1/4 cup melted  butter or margarine
1/2 lb.   mushrooms, sliced
3/4   cup chicken broth
1/4 cup   dry white wine
1/2 cup (2 oz)   shredded Swiss cheese

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine 3 tablespoons flour, thyme, rosemary,
and pepper in a shallow dish. Coat chicken on both sides with flour mixture;
shake off excess flour. In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons butter over medium
heat. Add ChicNSteakes; brown 2 minutes on each side. Remove chicken from
skillet and place in a 13x9-inch baking dish. Melt remaining 2 tablespoons
butter in skillet; add mushrooms and cook 2 to 3 minutes or until tender. Blend
in remaining 3 tablespoons flour. Gradually add chicken broth and wine; cook,
stirring constantly until mixture boils and thickens. Pour mushroom sauce evenly
over chicken. Cover; bake 25 to 30 minutes or until chicken is tender. Uncover;
top with cheese. Return to oven.and bake 5 minutes more or until cheese is
melted. Makes 6 servings.

Variation: Substitute an additional 1/4 cup chicken broth for wine.
